Spec E46 is a road racing class based on the 330i and 330Ci of BMW’s E46 chassis that emphasizes high performance, vehicle consistency, reasonable cost, and ease of entry in order to provide a highly competitive on-track racing experience between a large field of cars. Spec E46 may also be referred to as SpecE46 or SE46. Just like Spec E36, Spec 3, and Spec E30 that came before it, SpecE46's name is derived from BMW's chassis coding and "Spec" being the type racing class. Spec classes use the same cars, with the same specified equipment and parts, hence "spec".
