MSW Enhanced Engine Mounts (EEM) rebuild kit. Includes the common wear items for refreshing your mounts.
This is just the rebuild kit for use with our Enhanced Engine Mounts. Choose your durometer.
Includes the following:
- 2x Rubber Bushing Inserts in the durometer of your choice.
- 2x Aluminum Mount Face
- 2x Upper Flat Head Bolt
- 8x Stainless Steel Hex Head Bolts
- 4x Nylock Nuts
We have run our mounts for two seasons straight of endurance racing with an S54 powered car and have yet to see a need to replace the bushings. However, with any rubber part, there comes a point when the bushing insert will need replaced.
Check for cracks forming in the rubber and/or permanent deformation of the rubber insert. Also, any large impact can bend the attachment bolts and damage the rubber or even the top face plate.
Stock style heat shields must be used.
Sold as a pair for rebuilding a left and right mount.
WARNING: NEVER MIX RUBBER ENGINE MOUNTS WITH SOLID TRANSMISSION MOUNTS OR VICE VERSA.
Installation of the MSW EEMs are identical to installing stock engine mounts.
You will need to lift your vehicle to gain access to the lower engine mount nuts.
Then you will need to slightly lift your engine to clear the mounting studs of the mounts. This can be done with an engine hoist, engine support bar, or with a floor jack and a piece of wood across the engine pan.
If you wish to have your engine mounted 5mm below stock height, remove the 5mm aluminum spacer at this time. Leave it in place to achieve OEM height.
NOTE: If replacing solid (aluminum, Delrin, polyurethane, et) mounts, be sure to fully loosen your transmission mounts prior to lifting the engine, as you must have enough slack to allow the engine to move without putting a bind on your transmission mount. If replacing trans mounts first, the opposite must also be done. Don’t tighten any nuts until the full weight of the engine/transmission is resting on the mounts.
When installing the new mounts, insure the alignment pin drops into the corresponding hole in the front subframe.
Install OEM engine mount heat shield on right side engine mount (both sides for S65 engines)
Lower the engine back over the top engine mount stud carefully.
Tighten top and bottom mount nuts to 33 ftlbs.
Go thrash car on track!
