Optional EWS Removal, only for previously-sealed Epic Motorsports SpecE46 tuned ECUs.
Removal of EWS allows your Spec E46 to start and run without other EWS components installed or intact, including instrument cluster and key. EWS removal purchased at a future date for an already sealed Spec E46 ECU – you must supply your existing sealed, untampered Spec E46 ECU or otherwise be charged the sealing fee again. Your ECU will be returned fully sealed (per Spec E46 rules) with tamper-proof seals – replacing these seals will require return to Epic Motorsports for a full inspection and potential reflash (and additional charge).
This ECU work is sold as a modification to the ECU you send in (we cannot provide a core), performed only at Epic Motorsports, and sealed by Epic and returned directly to you. If you need your ECU returned by a certain date, please contact us to ensure proper handling and determine expedited shipping needs, and please allow one workweek for turnaround.
For all ECU work, you must send the ECU from your running car as a core. 7/2003 production is the approximate change from Ms43 to the Ms45 ECU, but please confirm by visually inspecting the label on your ECU before ordering.
We sell Epic Motorsports calibrations for a wide range of BMW models – please inquire.
You will need to remove your ECU and send it directly to Epic Motorsports for them to load the Spec E46 calibration and seal the ECU. Insure your package for $600 and include a printed copy of your Morehead Speed Works order. Then email your tracking number to [email protected] and include your order number in the email. Your return shipping will be charged at checkout.
The sealing process of your ECU is not as simple as a custom flash, and therefore will require up to one business week for processing.
Once sealed, your ECU will not be able to be overwritten or modified in the future. You can have Epic Motorsports reverse this procedure in the future for a fee, which will require opening the ECU and breaking the Spec E46 Seals. If your Spec E46 seals are broken, you must return your ECU to Epic Motorsports for a full inspection and potential reflash (and additional charge).
