The Spec E46 exhaust system is a lightweight 3″ stainless steel exhaust that includes all necessary from rear of the headers to the tailpipe.
This system is built by Magnaflow and developed by BimmerWorld specifically for the SpecE46 racing class. It comes with two different center sections, one with a resonator and one with a straight pipe. You can swap the center section if your local track has noise restrictions that prevent running the straight pipe. Both sections produce identical power.
The entire system utilizes V-band clamps at three points for easy removal to effect repairs if need be.
The included Y-pipe bolts directly to the Spec E46 required S52/M52 headers (sold separately here) for a complete bolt-in installation. The Y-pipe also has an additional O2 sensor bung for installation of an optional wide-band oxygen sensor at the merge of the two exhaust banks.
Installation utilizes the stock rubber isolated mounting points. Some adjustments (bending of mounting tabs) may be required to achieve a clean fit without rattles. Installation uses factory mounting points with necessary hardware included. This system was designed for the ZF 5-speed transmission, which is the most common in SpecE46. For this to work with the 6-speed you need to use the AAF transmission brace or the merge collector will need to be clearanced away from the factory transmission brace and the wideband O2 bung will be inaccessible.
While this kit was designed for the Spec E46 (330ci & 330i) it can be installed on any Non-M E46 if the complete SE46 setup is used (headers, y-pipe, exhaust).
NOTE: This exhaust system is strictly for off-road use on race or track-only cars. You may be required to provide proof that you intend to install this part on an actual race car. It shall not be used in vehicles driven on public streets. We will not provide any support for use of this part in a street-car application and doing so will void any warranty.
