MSW Test & Diagnostics MS43 DME

This product is a Genuine BMW supplied Siemens MS43 DME, which has been reflashed with the very latest firmware and has the EWS features (anti-theft) removed.  This allows you to install it in any M54B30 powered E46 for the purposes of reading trouble codes, live data, or simply testing by process of elimination.

The Epic Motorsports Spec E46 Tune is extremely locked down, making diagnostics and troubleshooting difficult on these “modern” electronically controlled engines.

These DME’s have been tested to work with INPA and other OBD scanners.  The actual engine mapping is a completely stock BMW tune and provides no performance benefit over a standard DME (ECU).

Features:

1. EWS deleted for operation in any manual E46 with an M54B30.
2. Slightly raised idle speed to account for lightweight flywheels.
3. Remove top speed limiter.
4. Increased 5th gear red line to 6800rpm to account for the lower gearing found in Spec E46s (3.46) when at tracks with long straights.
5. Suppressed all the non-race related DTC codes (ie, cruise control, multifunction steering wheel, clutch switch, electronic thermostat, etc.)
6. Adjustments made for use with the Spec E46 exhaust system and other common race modifications.

All adaptations have been cleared from the DME, so your car will require a relearn to run properly.  Typically 2 minutes of idling before driving will accomplish this.  When shutting down your race car, be sure to shut down the ignition first and wait around 20 seconds before disconnecting the battery (kill switch) so any adaptations can be written to the DME.

NOTE: These DME’s are not legal for racing in the SpecE46 class and are intended for repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics work.  There is no guarantee they will pass your local emissions requirements and are intended for off-road use only.  While not optimized for performance, this DME can be used on track in race situations that don’t require a specific tune.  

NOTE:  These DMEs are strictly for off-road use on race or track-only cars.  Their intended purposes is for troubleshooting engine issues.  They are not to be used in vehicles driven on public streets.  We will not provide any support for use of this part in a street-car application and doing so will void any warranty.
