MSW’s Take: We teamed up with GiroDisc to develop a much more affordable brake rotor solution for the Ginetta G56 GT4 race car. These rotors have gone through several tests in real world endurance races, bringing home multiple victories along the way. We’ve even achieved much longer life out of the components by going to a much more traditional pin drive system.
These rotors are a direct replacement for the Alcon rotors found on the late 2023 and onward G56 GT4 Ginetta (372x240x34mm front and 355x250x34mm rear) including the Evo package. Early G56s have a different size brake package, which can be purchased directly from GiroDisc.
Unlike the Alcon rotors, these GiroDiscs utilize proven and longer lasting bolts and drive pins for attachment. We have found that the tab drive mounting of the OE Alcon rotors is not nearly as durable, with rotor hats (aka bells) often requiring replacement after just one or two rotor replacements. The hard iron rotor impacting the aluminum hats quickly deforms the softer material, whereas the more conventional drive pin hats have lasted us seasons at a time.
Discs are made from a proprietary cast iron, poured and machined in the USA.
These GiroDisc Ginetta G56 GT4 rotor assemblies are sold as pairs (left and right specific vents and slots), fully assembled with hardware and hats.
Replacement friction rings can be purchased separately here.
