Why do we prefer the “old” latch style to GM buckles or spring-loaded bars? Simplicity.
We’ve experienced jammed GM buckle style bars, which could be life threatening in a car fire or instance where you need to get out of the car quickly. These latch style bars use a latch nearly identical to what is used in older aircraft. It simply works, will not jam, and is easy enough to allow for quick driver changes in endurance races.
Additionally, the bar can be bent and shaped to follow the contour of the window opening, allowing for better fits.
Round bar measures 27.75″ and total length is 30.25″. Bar (like all window net kits) requires a small amount of welding to attach to your cage.
