Splitters are horizontal, front-mounted aerodynamic devices used to manipulate the airflow above, below, and around the front of the vehicle. A well-designed splitter will guide a larger volume of air underneath the vehicle, increasing the air’s velocity and lowering the pressure, resulting in a net downward force acting on the bodywork.
The Klaus Composites splitter’s inclined leading edge and diffuser sections further enhance its performance over similarly sized flat plane splitters, helping to bring forward downforce bias to cars with even the most aggressive rear aerodynamic packages. 3D printed ABS plastic turning vanes further enhance the splitter’s function while inexpensive and easily replaceable HDPE rub guards protect the bottom surface from road rash.
Construction – All carbon fiber construction minimizes weight and maximizes strength. Splitters are perhaps the most vulnerable aerodynamic devices fitted to a racing car. Thoughtful construction including a molded and bonded-in carbon core, additional reinforcement along the leading edge, high-quality, aerospace grade materials and manufacturing processes, and replaceable polyethylene plastic anti-skid guard plates protect your investment from inevitable contact with road debris and from off-track excursions.
Diffusers and turning vanes – Top-mounted 3D printed ABS turning vanes strengthen the low-pressure vortex emanating from the outer edges of the splitter improving air evacuation from the front fender wells and the built-in diffusers; ultimately increasing air flow rate under the splitter for greater downforce.
Mounting and Hardware – Bonded and fully-reinforced aluminum inserts in the splitter allow for solid mounting to the included brackets and rear subframe reinforcement locations. Welded steel brackets mount to the front frame rails, sandwiched between the frame horns and the bumper support bar.
Weight: 12 lbs
Extra set of rub guards included and replacements available.
Designed originally for the the E46, but other chassis are compatible and customization available.
Shipping Note: Due to the size of the box, all splitters must ship LTL freight.
