E46 LF-30 Power Steering Pump – Luk

The LF-30 pump is a highly recommended upgrade to tracked or raced BMW E46 non-M’s.  The LF-20 model is known to fail, with either the pump vanes breaking or the center shaft becoming loose and working its way out.  Either failure will result in loss of power steering, or worse; trashing your rack with debris.

This is a new pump from the original supplier and includes the mounting bracket.

We recommend Red Line D4 ATF fluid for these pumps.  Do not use power steering fluid.

The easiest way to tell if you have an LF-20 pump is to look at the mounting bracket.  The LF-20 has a cast aluminum bracket, while the LF-30 has a stamped steel bracket.

If upgrading to an LF-30, you will need to replace the pressure line between the pump and rack, you can find that hose here.
