MSW’s Take: We’ve found the rear caliper bolts to loosen up much more often than any other bolt on the car. The caliper bolts on these cars are often over-stretched due to removal and install for rotor swaps. We’ve found many that will loosen on track, even when set to the proper torque. A previous owner or shop might have given them one too many ugga duggas with the impact. We highly recommend replacing all caliper mounting bolts before hitting the track.
These come with a thread locking compound pre-applied. BMW’s service manual recommends replacing the bolts at every removal.
