This nut is an exact replacement for the left-hand threaded nut that holds the oil pump sprocket in place on most E36s, non-M E46s, and 6 cylinder E39s.
This nut has been drilled to accept .032″ stainless steel safety wire, which is included. With the nut torqued in place, the safety wire can be installed and looped through the openings in the sprocket.
Remember this is a left-hand threaded nut, so take care to run the safety wire so that it keeps tension in a counter-clockwise direction (as you face the sprocket).
We recommend this solution for all BMWs with the applicable engines, but especially those that will see hard use in a track or race environment. For the ultimate solution, look to upgrade to the GSR Oil Pump.
Applications: All M50, M52, M52TU, M54, S50B30 (US), and S52 powered cars. All 6 cylinder E36s (US) & Z3s (excl S54), all non-M E46s, and 6 cylinder E39s.
