The MXL2 is a powerful and flexible racing data acquisition system that is just as easy to set up and use as all other AiM systems. The MXL2 offers many improvements and enhancements over the original MXL dash system.
Eight analog input channels can sample, log, and display a wide range of temperatures, pressures, or potentiometers (throttle position, steering position, etc). A CAN input allows you to further expand the dash by adding an almost limitless number of AiM CAN Data Hubs (Part No. MC-329, sold separately). These hubs let you connect other inputs such as Lambda (O2), SmartyCam, or even channel expansion hubs, without using any analog channels! The MXL2 can also be connected to many different ECUs to log any data gathered by the ECU. An internal 3-axis g-force sensor, 4 wheel speed channels, a lap time receiver input, and 2 digital outputs round out the package. It all adds up to a flexible, expandable data logger that can grow with you.
The compact 7.5″ x 4″ anodized aluminum housing features a wide, high-contrast LCD dash display screen. The auto-dimming backlight can be set by the user to white or red (you can even program it to change from white to red to indicate an alarm condition). Ten configurable shift light LEDs across the top of the housing and 6 configurable alarm LEDs along the sides can all be programmed with any of 7 colors. The screen has a digital (numeric) and graphic RPM display across the top with configurable scaling to suit your application. Gear position, speed, and predictive lap timer can all be shown on the screen at once. A portion of the screen is reserved for customizable “pages” of information: Temperatures, pressures, even a track map with real-time position.
The 2GB non-volatile memory can store many hours of information for detailed analysis using AiM’s latest Race Studio 3 software. All of the data can be downloaded to your computer using a built-in secure Wi-Fi connection (no cable required). Requires 9 – 15V external power supply.
Kit includes MXL2 data logging display, wiring harness with 37 pin Deutsch connector, GPS08 module, and Race Studio 3 software. All sensors sold separately.
